Seachem Flourish Iron ist ein hochkonzentrierter (10.000 mg/l) Eisengluconatzusatz.
Dieser Zusatz sollte in Fällen verwendet werden, wenn der Eisenbedarf höher ist als mit Flourish bei der empfohlenen Dosis erreicht werden kann.
Nach der Dosierung wird der Fe2+-Zustand des Eisens durch einen Ferro-Eisengluconatkomplex auf lange Zeit aufrechterhalten. Die Pflanzen ziehen mehr Nutzen aus Flourish Iron als aus EDTA-Eisenquellen, da EDTA-Eisenquellen den Fe3+-Eisenzustand haben. Da Pflanzen Eisen im wasserlöslichen Fe2+-Zustand benötigen, ist keine physiologische Energie notwendig, um das Fe2+-Eisen aus dem Flourish Iron zu ziehen und umzuwandeln.
