How long does it keep? It was always blue, and after 2 years I noticed that it is urine yellow. It is a 250ml size from which at most 20ml are missing. Can the yellow still change, or is the solution too old? Kind regards

Customers ask customers (or support) Answer: Our CO2 Check keeps for at least three years when stored properly. If it turns yellowish after some time, this is most likely due to contamination during removal. Organic load and an accompanying change in pH can lead to such a phenomenon.

When does the test liquid need to be changed?

The indicator liquid should be replaced after four to 6 weeks.

Does the liquid also show the CO2 concentration at KH 0?

The test liquid has a fixed carbonate hardness. So it can also be used at a KH of 0.

250 ml seems like a lot to me. How often should the liquid be replaced?

The test liquid should be renewed at regular intervals of about four to six weeks so that the drop checker always displays correctly. It should be replaced at the latest when the test liquid loses color and becomes more transparent. The indicator solution should always be stored dark and as cool as possible. It is advisable to always take out the liquid with clean objects to ensure the longest possible shelf life. If liquid is taken out with a pipette, any liquid that is not needed should possibly be discarded and not put back into the bottle. If you handle it this way, the solution keeps and remains usable for at least three years.

Hello, does the indicator also turn yellow when the CO2 content is too high, or does it stay green? Unfortunately I can't find anything about this in the description. Thank you very much.

The drop checker's test liquid turns yellow when the CO2 content is too high. You can find a lot more information in this wiki article: https://www.aquasabi.de/aquascaping-wiki_co2_co2-gehalt-messen

What if the pH is 7.6?

The test liquid works regardless of the pH of the aquarium water. The CO2 diffuses from the aquarium water across the air bubble in the drop checker into the test solution and vice versa. Depending on its CO2 content, the pH of the test liquid changes, and so does its color.

How long can I store this product in the bottle when it is opened?

If the CO2 check is stored in a cool and dark place, it can be kept for at least 2 years.

Description

The Aqua Rebell CO₂ Permanent Test Solution "CO₂ Check - 20 mg per litre" or "30 mg per litre" can be filled into any standard CO₂ permanent test and serves for the long-term monitoring of the CO₂ level in aquariums. An optimal CO₂-supply is essential for the thriving of aquatic plants and should therefore be continuously monitored. The advantage of the CO₂ Permanent Test Solution is that the determination of the CO₂-supply takes place independently of the aquarium water, thus substances such as humic acids cannot affect the CO₂ check.

Available in a 250 ml container.

A pipette for filling the permanent test is included in the delivery.

Application

The permanent test is filled with 1 - 2 ml of the CO₂ Permanent Test Solution and then positioned in a well-circulated area in the aquarium. After about 1 - 2 hours, the CO₂ content of the aquarium water can be read. A green colour indicates an optimal CO₂-supply of approximately 20 mg/l or 30 mg/l.

A CO₂ permanent test is very useful in an aquarium. Often, aquatic plants lack the essential CO₂, preventing optimal growth. With a CO₂ permanent test, the CO₂ level can be controlled with sufficient accuracy. The dye bromothymol blue used has the property of changing colour in a defined pH range.

CO₂ diffuses from the aquarium water through the air bubble in the permanent test into the test solution and vice versa. Depending on its CO₂ content, the pH value of the test liquid and thus its colour changes. A defined carbonate hardness in the test liquid determines at which CO₂ concentration a certain pH value is established. The test solutions "CO₂ Check 20 mg per litre" and "30 mg per litre" turn light green when their pH value is around 6,6. This is achieved at a CO₂ concentration of 20 mg/l or 30 mg/l. For this reason, the test solution "CO₂ Check 20 mg per litre" or "30 mg per litre" indicates a light green tone at a CO₂ value of the aquarium water of 20 mg/l or 30 mg/l. If the CO₂-supply in the aquarium is less than 20 or 30 mg per litre, the test reagent remains blue; if the CO₂-supply exceeds the mark of 20 or 30 mg per litre, the test reagent turns yellow.

For a community tank, the recommended option is the Aqua Rebell - CO2 Check 20 mg/l. The size of the Orb Checker is not relevant for measuring the CO2 content.

Is the liquid toxic?... Do you have to take any measures if the liquid accidentally gets into the water?

In the amount that fits into a CO2 Check, the liquid of the CO2 Check is completely harmless. For larger amounts, however, we recommend doing a large water change.

Gute Flüssigkeit mit klar erkennbarer Färbung. Gut finde ich, das eine Pipette zum befüllen der Co²-Checker direkt mit geliefert wird. Klare Kaufempfehlung!
