As early as 1951, the natural scientist Dr. Ulrich Baensch laid the foundation for one of the world's most important and largest manufacturers of aquarium accessories and fish food when he founded the company Tropenhaus in Hanover. After it was renamed Tetra Kraft Werke and moved to Melle in Lower Saxony, the name Tetra became a brand that is known around the world today. Ever since the company was founded, biologists, chemists and engineers have been researching and developing in various laboratories to optimize its products. A particular focus lies on developing and refining innovative products. Tetra's modern water care products such as AquaSafe, PlantaPro or NitrateMinus are chemically well-proven and fully developed helpers for aquascapers. These water conditioners make it easier to create a harmonious balance in the aquarium and make crystal-clear water and magnificent plants possible even with difficult water parameters and a fully stocked tank. Tetra fish foods meet the highest quality standards: they even meet the strict requirements of the IFS and proudly bear the corresponding certificate. In addition to top-quality accessories such as the EX plus filters, Tetra has played a part over the last 70 years in designing thousands of tasteful living rooms, furnishing state-of-the-art aquarium installations and specialist stores, and numerous scaping projects with its complete aquarium sets and innovative, unusual furniture.
