We love aquascaping and aquatic plants! At the end of 2006, Tobias Coring gave the starting signal to create a go-to place in the German-speaking world for everyone who is passionate about aquatic plants and aquascaping. Flowgrow.de, our community for all topics related to aquascaping and aquarium plants, was launched and has since offered a steadily growing pool of information on nutrient dosing, help with algae and design ideas for all aquariums and for aquascaping in particular.

When you pursue a hobby with passion, you always need the right tools to put your ideas into practice, especially in such a creative and visually appealing field as aquascaping. Tobias Coring quickly realized that there was a glaring gap in the supply of suitable products in Germany. For this reason, the Aquasabi shop was founded at the end of 2007 to build up a product range specifically for aquascapers and people who are passionate about aquatic plants.

Our product range is put together extremely carefully to meet the needs of planted tank keepers and aquascapers as well as possible. We have tested almost all products in our range ourselves and can therefore answer customer questions in a very targeted way. Premium brands such as Aqua Design Amano (ADA), Borneo Wild, gUSH or Cal Aqua Labs offer a wide range of high-quality products for aquascapers and planted tank keepers. For price-conscious customers, too, our range includes numerous glassware items, tools and aquatic plant fertilizers, and we are always on the lookout for suitable additions to round off our range.

In 2008, the first aquarium plant fertilizers were released under our own brand Aqua Rebell. Thanks to their versatility, these aquatic plant fertilizers are ideally tailored to the needs of easy as well as demanding aquatic plants and serve as the foundation for a vital aquascape or planted aquarium. In this area in particular, there had been major gaps in supply that made it hard for beginners to run a planted aquarium optimally. Aqua Rebell has closed these gaps and is the first choice of a great many aquascapers when it comes to aquatic plant fertilizers.

In the following years, the team of Aquasabi and of course Flowgrow was reinforced by biologist Heiko Muth, who is particularly interested in aquatic plants, the passionate aquascaper Marcel Dykierek and our aquarium-loving computer scientist Bastian Selonke. Product designer and aquascaper Sebastian Lilge supported the team during a particularly important phase with his know-how and commitment to Aquasabi.

In 2010, Tobias Coring attended the Aqua Design Amano seminar in Niigata (Japan) as further training, in order to learn about the ADA product range in even greater depth. The training also taught comprehensive techniques of nature aquariums and aquascaping, which can now be passed on to our customers.

Since 2012, in addition to a comprehensive range of accessories for aquascaping and planted aquariums, we have also been offering aquarium plants from our own cultivation as well as from renowned aquatic plant nurseries. The quality of the aquatic plants is particularly important to us, which is why we accept no compromises whatsoever on quality from our suppliers. Our customers should always be able to enjoy vital, vigorously growing aquatic plants.

Besides many plants that are readily available in stores, we are also able to offer special rarities again and again. We were the first major importers of Bucephalandra species in Europe and have thus ensured that these beautiful plants have spread widely among European aquascapers and aquatic plant enthusiasts. We also offer rare mosses, rare ferns and special stem and rosette plants that cannot be found elsewhere in stores.

In 2013, we launched the Flowgrow Tools, a range of tools for maintaining aquatic plants that doesn't have to hide behind the premium brands in terms of quality, yet is offered at a very good value for money. Extra-hardened blades and special care during production make perfect tools possible in series production at a fair price.

We are constantly looking for new products that make aquascapers' hearts beat faster, and we want to stay true to our motto in the future, too: We make things grow in your aquariums! Aqua Rebell

Aqua Rebell - our own brand of aquatic plant and aquascaping fertilizers. We at Aquasabi love aquatic plants and aquascaping and were practically forced to launch this fertilizer line in 2008. Up to that point, the macronutrients nitrate and phosphate in particular were frowned upon and were hardly ever added. Only a few aquatic plant experts also used these nutrients in their aquariums. Without any justification, the majority of aquarists considered these nutrients to be the trigger for algae outbreaks. However, new scientific findings as well as practical experience show that nitrate and phosphate are not responsible for algae growth; rather, nutrient imbalances in the aquarium promote algae.

All aquatic plants therefore need precisely these essential nutrients in sufficient quantities to thrive. Due to the increasing use of technology in aquariums, which makes higher light levels and CO2 injection nothing unusual anymore, fish waste is often no longer sufficient to fertilize the aquatic plants. Nitrate and phosphate, previously demonized, suddenly became deficient nutrients in many planted aquariums. This is also where the brand name "Aqua Rebell" comes from: macronutrient dosing as a rebellious counter-concept to the widespread "nitrate- and phosphate-free fertilization".

Aqua Rebell closes these gaps and continuously works on further improving the existing product lines. In our development work, we cooperate very closely with the aquarist grassroots and take into account the wishes and suggestions of planted tank keepers and aquascapers. Suggestions from our aquatic plant and aquascaping community www.flowgrow.de often lay the foundation for new products, which are then put through their paces by many experienced aquarists. For this reason, our products are based on many years of experience, practical testing and innovative ideas. It's important to us that aquarists are successful with our products and can enjoy their planted aquariums.

Flowgrow

Flowgrow was launched at the end of 2006 to create an information platform with a community all about aquascaping and aquatic plants. A very comprehensive aquatic plant database offers a wealth of information on cultivating aquatic plants as well as extensive botanical background knowledge. Flowgrow's nutrient calculator helps with self-mixed fertilizers and the perfect dosing of liquid fertilizers in a planted aquarium or aquascape. The nutrient calculator can also generate specific dosing recommendations for Aqua Rebell products tailored to your own aquarium.

The integrated aquarium profiles for the community members' aquascapes provide detailed information on the aquariums, including planting plans. Aquascaping News offers many in-depth articles on aquascaping and planted aquariums as well as short news items from these fields. Particularly worth highlighting, however, are the friendly community members, who always lend a sympathetic ear to problems with your aquarium.
