The Aquarium Plant Set - 60 Liters - Algae Control - Green - Easy - No. 03 was put together especially to prevent algae growth in a natural way and to promote a stable biological balance in the aquarium. The set includes Helanthium bolivianum "quadricostatus", Cryptocoryne wendtii "Green", Cardamine lyrata, Limnophila sessiliflora, Hygrophila polysperma, Heteranthera zosterifolia and Egeria najas. The combination of fast-growing and robust species ensures dense planting that absorbs nutrients effectively and thus makes it harder for algae to grow.
This set is designed to let you set up an aquarium without needing extensive prior knowledge of aquatics and plant care. The selected plants need low light, no CO2, and weekly fertilization is sufficient. All plants are robust and easy to care for, do not place high demands on water parameters, and are forgiving of care mistakes.
Helanthium bolivianum "quadricostatus" is a compact-growing dwarf sword plant from Central and South America that forms dense, light green carpets. It is ideally suited for the foreground and grows reliably even under low lighting. It propagates via runners and, under good conditions, quickly provides a closed plant cover.
Cryptocoryne wendtii "Green" impresses with its robustness and adaptability. The green form of this popular species forms dense rosettes and thrives under both low and medium lighting. It is particularly easy to care for and ideally suited for beginners.
Cardamine lyrata, the Japanese cress, has roundish leaves on long, creeping stems reminiscent of pennywort. It prefers cooler temperatures and medium lighting conditions. Under good conditions, it grows quickly and forms attractive, branching stands.
Limnophila sessiliflora is a fine-leaved, light green stem plant from Southeast Asia. It grows very quickly, absorbs excess nutrients and thus helps prevent algae growth. With regular trimming, it stays compact and densely branched.
Hygrophila polysperma is one of the most undemanding aquarium plants. Its 25–40 cm tall shoots keep growing vigorously even in low light, making it an ideal beginner plant. It stabilizes the aquarium by consuming large amounts of nutrients, thus promoting the biological balance.
Heteranthera zosterifolia, the water stargrass, develops light green, elongated leaves and numerous side shoots. It quickly grows into dense groups and creates lively contrasts with its fresh color. A good nutrient supply promotes its bushy growth and intense leaf color.
Egeria najas is a robust, fast-growing waterweed species from South America that forms long, finely leaved shoots with densely arranged leaves. It grows both free-floating and planted, making it ideally suited for different design styles in the aquarium. Thanks to its strong oxygen production and high nutrient consumption, it improves water quality. The result is a balanced plant set that, through its combination of fast-growing and robust species, makes a healthy, easy-to-care-for aquarium possible and reliably helps to control algae naturally.
