Description
Artemia Hatching Bowl from Hobby is an uncomplicated aid for your own hatchery of Artemia nauplii that are ideal as live feed for small fish and juvenile fish. Only salt and eggs are required or a mix of both like Artemix from Hobby.
The incubation period of Artemia of only 24 - 48 hours makes it an optimal food for successful and low-loss fish farming. An airpump is not required. In the middle of the Hatching Bowl is a sieve where hatched nauplii can simply be taken out and be fed to fish. With the separately available Artemia eggs, the nauplii can be bred again and again as needed. The scope of delivery contains a black plastic bowl, a white inner ring and a sieve.
Features
- Protein-rich live food develops within 24 - 48 hours
- Complete hatchery with inner ring and sieve
- No air pump required
- Easy complete mixture of Artemia salt and eggs avaible
- Made of solid plastic
Scope of delivery
- Black bowl
- White inner ring
- White Sieve
- Measuring spoon
Usage
Add 3 tablespoons of salt to 500 ml of water, stir and fill the bowl up to the filling line with the mixed liquid.. After that add 2 - 3 measuring spoons of eggs into the outer ring, where Artemia will hatch and swim into the middle by being drawn to light. After 24 - 48 hours you can simply take the preinstalled sieve out with hatched Artemia and feed them to the inhabitants of the aquarium.
Note
Any iodine-free salt is suitable for hatching Artemia but special Artemia salts contain additional traces of plankton, which will serve the nauplii as food for their first days. The possible death of Artermia nauplii can be due to several reasons: the pollution of the water used, the quality of the feed given and the hygiene of the breeding and hatchery.
With optional avaible Artemix:
Add 3 slighty heaped teaspoons into the outer ring, stir up slowly and add water until the filling line is reached. After that, close the bowl and wait 24 - 48 hours. Now you can take the hatched Artemia out by slimpy picking up the preinstalled sieve and give them into your aquarium.

I've had the tray for a few weeks and it really works great. Fill it according to the instructions and the very next day nauplii can be fed, and that for 3 to 4 days. (read more)

Empfehlenswert
Since I was very surprised that even XS granules were still too big for my pepper tetras and I had switched to baby food, I started thinking about suitable live food. (read more)

Geniales Ding!
