Besides the liquid fertilizers, the care products and water conditioners from ADA have also been revised. Along with the new design with stylish square bottles, there are also some new products. In the Aquascaping Wiki, we have already introduced the New Brighty fertilizer series. In this article, you will now learn everything important about the new ADA water conditioners.
Chlor-off

The long-proven conditioner Chlor-off is now called Aqua Conditioner Chlor-off. It reliably removes chlorine compounds from the fresh water intended for the aquarium. Otherwise, chlorine present in the water can damage the gills and mucous membranes of fish. In invertebrates, especially shrimp and crayfish, the damaging effect of chlorine is so strong that even small amounts are lethally toxic. It also has a negative effect on aquatic plants. Of the new ADA Aqua Conditioner Chlor-off, you use approx. 2 ml per 10 l of fresh water (depending on the chlorine content). It is available in three different container sizes.
Aqua Conditioner Clear Water
Clear Dash is now called Aqua Conditioner Clear Water. This flocculant removes cloudiness or discoloration of the water and reduces the phosphate content in the aquarium water. For treatment, 1 ml is dosed per 10 l of aquarium water. After adding it, the water briefly turns cloudy and then becomes noticeably clearer.

For strong yellowish discoloration or cloudiness of the aquarium water, you can use a combined treatment of Clear Water (dosage: 1 ml per 10 l) with Brighty K.
Safety note: All inhabitants should be removed from the aquarium before the treatment!
Brighty K is additionally dosed at approx. 1 to 3 ml. The higher the dose, the more strongly the cloudiness-causing substances are neutralized. The flocculated particles settle as sediment in the aquarium and in the filter and should definitely be siphoned off, also to avoid clogging the filter. Important: please follow the instructions and the prescribed dosage exactly.
Clear Water lowers the pH of the aquarium water for a short time. Because of the flocculating effect of this product, the health of fish and invertebrates can be affected. If your aquarium inhabitants react unusually, please carry out a generous water change immediately.
Vita-Mix

The ADA Vitamix is now continued as New Aqua Conditioner Vita-Mix. It supplies various organic vitamins that are lacking in tap water. Vitamins are important for the health of aquarium animals; they help prevent disease and boost growth. New Aqua Conditioner Vita-Mix is available in three different container sizes and should be stored as cool and dark as possible.
Soft Water

As a new product, the Aqua Conditioner Soft Water is now available. This water conditioner lowers both the carbonate hardness and the pH of the aquarium water. This benefits those aquatic plants, ornamental fish and invertebrates that prefer soft and acidic water. Adding this conditioner can make sense because our tap water is usually slightly alkaline (pH above 7). The Aqua Conditioner Soft Water is used at 1 ml per 10 l with a weekly water change. It is available in 200 and 5,000 ml containers.
Also: the old products ADA Black Water and Rio Base are being discontinued.
