The brand Twinstar was previously only known for its aquarium sterilizers. Now the manufacturer has developed LED lighting for aquariums, which we present in more detail here.
The Twinstar Light RGB LED lighting consists of a thin aluminum body fitted with LEDs of different colors. Besides white LEDs, RGB LEDs in red, green and blue are also built in. The share of colored LEDs improves color rendering and especially emphasizes objects in the aquarium with a red or blue color component, such as fish and plants. The electronics are protected by a cover pane in a frosted glass look. Stylish acrylic glass brackets serve as rest-on mounting options for standard aquarium lengths. A great deal of value was placed on the design of the lamp; it is reflected in numerous details, such as the transparent power cable that leads to the lamp body. A matching converter is also included in the scope of delivery.

- Power consumption: 32 watts
- Dimensions incl. bracket: 59.5 x 11.7 x 11 cm
- Luminous flux: 2,300 lumens
450ES for 45 cm aquariums
- Power consumption: 22 watts
- Dimensions incl. bracket: 45 x 11.7 x 9.6 cm
- Luminous flux: 1,600 lumens
360ES for 36 cm aquariums
- Power consumption: 17 watts
- Dimensions incl. bracket: 36 x 11.7 x 8 cm

350ES for 35 cm aquariums
- Power consumption: 17 watts
- Dimensions incl. bracket: 35 x 11.7 x 8 cm
- Luminous flux: 1,200 lumens
Note on the luminous flux figure
The lumen value of the Twinstar Light appears considerably weaker compared with lighting from other manufacturers fitted exclusively with pure white LEDs. This is due to the RGB share used here. Colored LEDs have a smaller effect on the lumen value and thus on the light perceived as bright by the human eye.
Our conclusion
The Twinstar Light LED lighting offers, at an attractive price, a tastefully designed solution for aquascapes in classic ADA tank dimensions. Because of the RGB share in the LED selection, its strength lies less in saving electricity than in a visually very beautiful color accentuation. Colorful fish and aquatic plants shine in a completely different light under this lighting and show much more intense colors.
