Shortening the Tube of the Dosing Pump
Cutting it to the right length

The Aqua Rebell dosing pumps have a plastic tube whose length matches the 1-liter containers. For 500 ml bottles, the tube can be shortened so that it fits the smaller bottles. Here we show you what to watch out for.

The plastic tube can be shortened quite easily with a sharp knife or scissors. To fit the 500 ml container exactly, you should shorten the tube so that it reaches the bottom of the bottle without kinks or bends. The tube should also not rest directly on the bottom. If there is no gap here, the end of the tube is blocked and sometimes no or insufficient liquid can be drawn in. You can remedy this by cutting the end of the tube at an angle or into a triangle (see photo).

Tube end cut square

The tube of the dosing pump can be cut to a suitable length of approx. 19.3 cm. It is measured from the lower part of the thread of the dosing pump (see red arrow). With these measures (correct length and a triangular-cut end), nothing should stand in the way of trouble-free use of the dosing pump with the smaller containers of Aqua Rebell fertilizers either. The smaller bottles are especially recommended for nano aquariums.
