Proper plant nutrition is of the utmost importance for the health of aquatic plants - no matter whether they grow above or below water. Without nutrients, it is not possible to keep plants healthy and attractive over a longer period. Many aquarists, however, don't consider good fertilization important, since plants don't necessarily stop growing or fade even without additional food, as long as they carry out photosynthesis. This month, we are introducing two different types of liquid fertilizer that you can use in a Wabi-Kusa or in an aquarium.
Liquid fertilizer for aquatic plants in two different versions
One type for submersed plants, that is, plants growing underwater, and another type for aquatic plants grown above the water surface, that is, emersed - this keeps the plants beautiful and healthy.
DOOA Wabi-Kusa Mist

Thanks to foliar fertilization, aquatic plants grown emersed keep their intense colors and healthy growth.
Of course, you can also simply give liquid fertilizer to emersed-growing aquatic plants through the water their roots stand in. The high nutrient content can cause an algae bloom there, however, so you have to clean the container very often. Fertilizing through the foliage, on the other hand, doesn't burden the water and also works very quickly. This way, the leaves of the aquatic plants quickly take on a dark, intense color, since they absorb the nutrients right on the spot where they are needed. With too high a nutrient density, however, the sensitive aerial leaves of aquatic plants can burn, so a special fertilizer is needed here. Wabi-Kusa Mist has nitrogen as its main component, which the leaves absorb well, and an optimal nutrient density for foliar fertilization - it also doesn't damage delicate plant foliage. If you spray Wabi-Kusa Mist daily so that the leaves of the plants in the Wabi-Kusa are wetted, you also keep pests such as aphids away at the same time. A hint of fresh mint takes care of that.
DOOA Suikei Liquid

Daily fertilization covers basic nutrient needs and keeps aquatic plants healthy.
In a "full-grown" Nature Aquarium, it is best to put together a suitable fertilization from our 5 different liquid fertilizers. They are used in different compositions depending on the aquatic plants used and the condition of the aquarium. In an aquarium of the DOOA System Aqua 30 type or in another nano aquarium, however, this method is rather complicated. For this we developed the liquid fertilizer Suikei Liquid, which contains the nutrients nitrogen, potassium and trace elements that aquatic plants need for healthy growth. Together with suitable lighting and a CO2 supply, daily fertilizer dosing ensures that aquatic plants stay healthy and vigorous even in a small aquarium. Phosphate in too high a concentration can cause algae outbreaks. Thanks to fish food and fish excretions, it is almost always present in sufficient amounts in the aquarium. This fertilizer therefore contains no additional phosphate, so that the aquarium looks visually appealing for a long time.
