Tropical River Soil is an active substrate for successfully growing aquatic plants. It lowers both the hardness and the pH of the aquarium water, creating a slightly acidic, soft environment that is ideal for most tropical aquarium plants and animals. The substrate is brown in color.
Tropical River Sand, on the other hand, is a purely decorative sand or gravel that has no effect on the water parameters in the aquarium. It should be rinsed before use. This substrate is perfect for recreating natural riverbed sand zones.
