The Aquarium Plant Set - 120 Liters - Colorful - Medium - No. 09 is a carefully coordinated selection of richly colored aquatic plants for medium-sized aquariums. The set includes Micranthemum tweediei ("Montecarlo-3"), Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini'), Hygrophila pinnatifida, Eriocaulon sp. "Vietnam", Bolbitis heudelotii, Hygrophila polysperma and Limnophila hippuridoides. The combination of carpeting plants, epiphytes and colorful stem plants provides a varied sense of depth and lively contrasts in the aquarium. Different leaf structures and growth forms allow for a harmonious, natural-looking layout with exciting color accents.
This set is aimed at people who already have some experience in the aquarium hobby. The selected plants need medium lighting, CO2 levels of 20 to 30 mg/l and fertilization 2-3x/week. The plants benefit from a regular supply of nutrients and stable water parameters.
Micranthemum tweediei ("Montecarlo-3") is a very popular carpeting plant in aquascaping and forms dense, light green cushions with small, roundish leaves. Under sufficient lighting, the plant grows creeping and closes the foreground into a continuous carpet. Thanks to its compact growth, it is ideal for creating soft transitions between hardscape and open areas.
Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini') is a very small-leaved, robust epiphyte with slow growth. It copes with little light and does not need CO2, but benefits from a stable nutrient supply. The rhizome must not be buried in the substrate and is ideally attached to driftwood or stones.
Hygrophila pinnatifida impresses with its deeply lobed leaves, which show olive green to reddish-brown hues depending on the light intensity. The wine-red underside of the leaves provides additional color accents in the layout. It can grow both upright and creeping and is ideal for decorating hardscape elements in the midground.
Eriocaulon sp. "Vietnam" forms fine, grass-like rosettes with light green, needle-like leaves. The plant brings a modern, structured look to the aquarium and sets calm but distinctive accents in the midground. With stable water parameters and a good nutrient supply, it develops a particularly even and compact growth form.
Bolbitis heudelotii is a decorative water fern with translucent bottle-green, finely pinnate fronds. It prefers good water flow and is ideally tied onto roots or stones, where over time it develops impressive, slightly overhanging leaves. Thanks to its elegant structure, it is ideal as a structuring accent in the background or midground.
Hygrophila polysperma is one of the fast-growing and particularly adaptable stem plants. It develops light green, upright shoots and, through its rapid growth, supports nutrient uptake, especially during the start-up phase of the aquarium. At the same time, it provides fresh, lively shades of green and a natural fullness in the background.
Limnophila hippuridoides develops finely structured leaves arranged in whorls and shows an attractive red to violet coloration under stronger light. It brings depth and color dynamics to the background of the aquarium. With regular trimming, it can be kept compact and used specifically as a colorful focal point.
