The Aquatic Plant Set 120 Litres Green Medium No. 09 was assembled for planted freshwater aquariums with varied structure and natural depth. The combination of fine-leaved stem plants, robust epiphyte plants and decorative rosette plants creates a harmonious layout with different shades of green and varied growth forms. The set includes Rotala indica, Microsorum pteropus 'Narrow', Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, Hygrophila pinnatifida, Cryptocoryne crispatula var. balansae, Hygrophila polysperma and Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini'). The plants are suitable for midground and background areas as well as decorative accents in the foreground and on hardscape. The varied composition creates a lively yet balanced aquascape.
This set is intended for people who already have experience in aquatics. The selected plants require medium lighting, CO2 levels of 20 to 30 mg/l and fertilisation 2-3x/week. The plants benefit from a regular nutrient supply and stable water parameters. The fast-growing species Rotala indica and Hygrophila polysperma help establish the biological balance.
Rotala indica develops fine, densely arranged leaves and forms compact, bushy stems under good conditions. The plant is ideal for the midground to background and adds structure to the layout with its delicate growth pattern. Under stronger lighting, the shoot tips may develop slightly reddish tones.
Microsorum pteropus 'Narrow' is a narrow-leaved variety of Java fern with elegant, upright growth. This robust epiphyte plant is preferably attached to wood or stones and requires very little maintenance. Its slender leaves make it particularly suitable for natural aquascapes with fine structures.
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis forms lawn-like growth and is ideal for the foreground of the aquarium. The grass-like leaves create a natural appearance and provide smooth transitions between hardscape and taller plants. Under good lighting conditions, the plant develops a dense carpet.
Hygrophila pinnatifida impresses with its unusually shaped leaves and olive-brown to reddish coloration. The plant can be cultivated both in the substrate and on hardscape, where it develops decorative side shoots. Its distinctive growth makes it an excellent focal point in the midground.
Cryptocoryne crispatula var. balansae develops long, wavy leaves and brings dynamic lines into the aquarium. The plant is particularly suitable for the background of larger aquariums and creates a very natural appearance in planted layouts. Once acclimatised, it grows robustly and remains stable over time.
Hygrophila polysperma is one of the particularly fast-growing aquatic plants and helps consume excess nutrients during the start-up phase. The plant is robust, adaptable and develops numerous side shoots. Regular trimming allows it to be kept compact and bushy.
Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini') remains very small and is ideal for creating fine details on wood and stones. This slow-growing epiphyte plant has dark green, sturdy leaves and is extremely easy to care for. Its compact growth habit makes it especially suitable for nano details and foreground accents.
The result is a diversely planted aquarium with natural depth, varied leaf structures and harmonious shades of green.
