Description
The Aquarium Plant Set - 30 Liters - Low Maintenance - No. 02 offers a harmonious combination of aquarium plants that create a balanced and natural appearance. The set includes Lobelia cardinalis 'Mini', Bucephalandra pygmaea 'Bukit Kelam / Sintang', Eleocharis acicularis, Microsorum pteropus 'Narrow', Rotala rotundifolia as well as Aegagropila linnaei. The combination creates a harmonious, natural look in the aquarium. The moss balls complete the set as a living decoration and add small green accents to the foreground.
This set is designed to let you set up an aquarium without needing much prior knowledge of aquarium keeping or plant care. The selected plants need only low light and no CO2, and weekly fertilization is sufficient. All plants are robust and easy to care for, have no high demands on water parameters and forgive care mistakes.
Lobelia cardinalis 'Mini' is a compact dwarf form of the well-known cardinal flower with small, rounded leaves and dense growth. It is ideally suited for the foreground and midground, especially in nano aquariums. In emersed culture it produces bright red flower spikes and impresses with its robustness and adaptability.
Bucephalandra pygmaea 'Bukit Kelam / Sintang' is an epiphyte from West Kalimantan that forms dense stands with branched rhizomes on stones. Its softly textured, green to brownish-green leaves have slightly wavy edges. Underwater it grows at a moderate pace, is easy to care for and occasionally shows white flower spikes under favorable conditions.
Eleocharis acicularis, the dwarf hairgrass, has hair-thin, medium green blades and forms dense lawns through its thin runners. In aquariums it grows about 10 – 20 cm tall, prefers bright locations and benefits from added CO2, but also does without it. Thanks to its wide temperature tolerance it is equally suitable for coldwater and tropical aquariums.
Microsorum pteropus 'Narrow' is a narrow-leaved variety of Java fern with light green leaves 10 – 30 cm long. The plant is very robust, thrives even in low light and is very easy to attach to roots and stones. Thanks to its low care requirements it is perfect for the midground to background of smaller aquariums.
Rotala rotundifolia is a well-known stem plant from Asia. Underwater it develops narrow, elongated leaves whose color varies from fresh green to reddish tones depending on light intensity. It is easy to care for, grows quickly and creates lively color gradients in the background with its dense stands.
The moss ball Aegagropila linnaei serves as a decorative addition that can be placed freely in the aquarium. The result is a natural plant layout with harmonious growth and low maintenance.
