Description
Black Lava is of volcanic origin, featuring a porous texture, making it very lightweight and versatile. Due to its comparably low weight, it is possible to create large structures with it.
For example it is possible to design a "Green Reef". Green Reefs are tall scapes covered in various epiphytes like ferns of the genus Microsorum or Bolbitis, Pogostemon helferi or different kinds of moss. Their roots will find a good foothold due to the porouse sctructure of the stone. Individual stones can still be moved or exchanged later on, making the layout modular.
Also a classical Iwagumi can be made from Black Lava since the very dark colors make for a good contrast to the grey color of the more commonly used kinds of stone. As an advantage Black Lava does not increase the hardness of the tank water.
Lava rock is often used in conjunction with roots. The individual stones can be covered with moss to form forest-inspired scapes.
Black Lava is available as already assembled sets. These provide an excellent opportunity to get a perfect selection (on which we have no influence) of stones which match to different aquarium sizes (60 cm, 80 cm, 100 cm and 120 cm). The sets are already compiled before they reach Aquasabi, so they can not be opened or altered.
Budget sets are not as rugged as the standard choice and should mainly be used to fill up the scape with more rocks with same colouring and shape.

Super Qualität
Die Qualität entspricht 1 zu 1 der auf den Produktbildern. Also Super Ware!
I bought 2X 100cm lava sets a week ago. On arrival I noticed that one package was conspicuously light. A quick weighing gave 3.6 kg for one and 6.3 kg for the other. (read more)

Nach Trauer macht sich Freude breit
Ich habe vor einer Woche 2X 100cm Lavaset gekauft.
Bei der Ankunft bemerkte ich das ein Paket auffällig leicht war. Kurz gewogen ergab eins 3,6 kg das andere 6,3 kg. Also mehr als 2kg unter dem ca. Gesamtgewicht. Als ich den „Kohlegruss“ dann auspackte, macht das bitte draußen oder in der Badewanne, war ich sehr überrascht und habe mich wahnsinnig gefreut. Mehr XL und L Steine als in der Beschreibung angegeben und sehr schöne Formen.
Ich möchte daraus mit der Zigarettenfilter Methode eine Gebirgslandschaft bauen die möglichst bis zur Oberfläche reicht (40cm). Ich denke aufgrund der tollen Auswahl freue ich mich sehr auf die Gestaltung. Auch wenn Aquasabi angibt keinen Einfluss auf die Sets zu haben war bei der Zusammstellung eher ein Aquarianer als ein Gärtner am Start. Vielen Dank Aquasabi für die tollen Steine ebenso wie die anderen Artikel. Bin absolut happy.
