Description
The Fluval U-Series internal filters are characterised by great versatility.
The filter can be attached vertically and horizontally in the aquarium.
In this way, it can also be used for shallow waters and decorative waterfalls, for example.
The flow can be adjusted continuously, and the outlet can even be selected at three different points in the U2, U3 and U4 versions.
Such flexibility ensures that the U series can be used in a wide range of applications.
The small U1 filter can also be used in nano aquariums and has a foam filter cartridge.
All larger filters in the U series offer the convenience of 3-stage filtration.
They use the full power of mechanical, chemical and biological filtration.
The matching filter media are included in the scope of delivery.
For better maintenance, the filters can be removed from their holder and opened at the top head.
From there, all filter media can be changed.
All U-series filters provide excellent cleaning, agitation and oxygenation of the water.
In this way, they contribute to the vitality of aquatic plants and aquarium inhabitants.
The unobtrusive appearance of the filters means they do not detract from a beautifully designed layout.
They are suitable for use in freshwater and marine aquariums.

From the start I replaced the middle cartridge with a few pieces of Seachem Matrix. Not many fit in there anyway. (read more)

Empfehlenswert. Sehr groß aber sicher für kleinere Fische.
Ich habe von Anfang an die mittlere Kartusche ausgetauscht mit ein paar Steinchen Seachem Matrix.
Viele passen da sowieso nicht herein.
Hab diesen Filter genutzt um beim kompletten rescape das Becken etwas durchzuwirbeln und mit dem enthaltenen Aktivkohlefilter die Trübung durchs neue Holz zu reduzieren (was funktioniert hat)
Er ist wunderbar modular aber ich habe ihn nur im aufrechten Modus genutzt.
Den Aufstecker für die Ausfluss Reduktion hab ich entfernt für maximale Umwälzung.
Er hat im ADA 60p eine ausreichende Umwälzung gehabt. Ohne Fischbesatz wäre er auch ausreichend gewesen zum Dauerbetrieb wenn man das denn so handhaben möchte da das Ungetüm sehr groß ist.
Reinigung ist Kinderleicht und auch während der Filter im Aquarium hängt kann man
die Filterkammern überprüfen ohne ihn heraus zu nehmen.
Von wo der Filter ansaugt ist mir nie ganz klar geworden. Auch beim anbringen von Starterbakterien die man im Wasser sieht schien alles nur so um den Filter herum sich zu verteilen anstatt an einer Stelle spezifisch angesaugt zu werden.
Vermutlich ist das ein Vorteil da so die Gefahr vom Ansaugen kleinerer Fische minimal bleibt!
