The Aquarium Plant Set - 120 Liters - Algae Control - Green - No. 04 was put together especially to establish the biological balance in medium-sized aquariums and to suppress algae growth in a natural way. The set includes Helanthium bolivianum "quadricostatus", Cardamine lyrata, Hemianthus glomeratus, Limnophila sessiliflora, Hygrophila polysperma, Rotala rotundifolia and Hydrocotyle leucocephala. The combination of fast-growing and robust species ensures stable nutrient uptake and offers ideal conditions for a clear aquarium.
This set is designed to let you set up an aquarium without needing extensive prior knowledge of aquatics and plant care. The selected plants need low light, no CO2, and weekly fertilization is sufficient. All plants are robust and easy to care for, do not place high demands on water parameters, and are forgiving of care mistakes.
Helanthium bolivianum "quadricostatus" is a low-growing dwarf sword plant from Central and South America. It forms light green, lanceolate leaves and, through numerous runners, quickly grows together into a dense lawn-like carpet. The species is robust, easy to care for and ideal as a carpeting plant for the foreground.
Cardamine lyrata, the Japanese cress, grows with long, thin stems and roundish leaves reminiscent of pennywort. It thrives best at cooler temperatures around 20 °C and gives the aquarium a lively character with its natural, slightly trailing growth. Thanks to its adaptability, it can be cultivated both underwater and in humid terrariums.
Hemianthus glomeratus is a fine, light green stem plant from Florida. It forms delicate, slightly curved leaves and partly grows creeping under strong lighting. Planted in groups, it forms a dense, bushy stand that looks particularly attractive in the midground.
Limnophila sessiliflora is a classic aquarium plant from Southeast Asia with fine-leaved, light green shoots. It grows quickly and places only modest demands on water parameters and light. Under intense lighting, the shoot tips show a slightly reddish coloration, creating a subtle color contrast.
Hygrophila polysperma, also called dwarf hygrophila, is one of the most undemanding aquarium plants of all. It grows quickly and reaches a height of 25–40 cm. Thanks to its high nutrient uptake, it helps suppress algae growth and stabilizes the aquarium naturally.
Rotala rotundifolia is an adaptable stem plant from Asia that is light green to reddish depending on the light. It grows upright and densely, creating a structured, colorful effect, especially in the background. Its slender leaves set soft accents and bring dynamism to the layout.
Hydrocotyle leucocephala, the Brazilian pennywort, is a fast-growing, trailing aquarium plant with delicate, roundish, light green leaves. Its shoots grow upright or floating and can spread over roots and decorations, creating a natural, lively impression. Thanks to its high adaptability, it is ideal for various areas of the tank and, with its fresh green, adds lightness and structure to the layout. The result is a harmoniously planted aquarium with healthy plant growth and significantly reduced algae.
