Description
The Aquarium Plant Set - 250 Liters - Algae Control - Colorful - No. 02 was put together especially to effectively green a large aquarium and liven it up with colorful accents. The plants it contains are characterized by fast growth and high nutrient uptake, so they bind excess nutrients and inhibit algae growth. The set includes Helanthium bolivianum "quadricostatus", Hemianthus glomeratus, Echinodorus 'Tricolor', Cardamine lyrata, Limnophila sessiliflora, Hygrophila polysperma, Ludwigia palustris "Super Red" and Ludwigia "Rubin". The combination of green and red species creates a lively, high-contrast overall picture and supports a stable biological balance.
This set is designed to let you set up an aquarium without needing extensive prior knowledge of aquatics and plant care. The selected plants need low light, no CO2, and weekly fertilization is sufficient. All plants are robust and easy to care for, do not place high demands on water parameters, and are forgiving of care mistakes.
Helanthium bolivianum "quadricostatus" is a low-growing dwarf sword plant from Central and South America. It forms light green, lanceolate leaves and, through numerous runners, quickly grows together into a dense lawn-like carpet. The species is robust, easy to care for and ideal as a carpeting plant for the foreground.
Hemianthus glomeratus is a delicate stem plant from Florida with small, light green leaves. It grows compact and bushy, but can also grow creeping in stronger light. Thanks to its delicate growth, it is ideally suited for the midground or for fine accents in larger tanks.
Echinodorus 'Tricolor' is a decorative sword plant with light green to yellowish leaves that turn slightly brownish under stronger light. It grows vigorously while remaining compact and is ideal as a solitary plant in the midground. The variety is undemanding and tolerant of different water parameters.
Cardamine lyrata originates from East Asia and is also known as Japanese cress. It forms long, creeping stems with roundish leaves reminiscent of pennywort. The plant grows best at cooler temperatures and, with its natural, slightly wild appearance, brings a lively structure to the aquarium.
Limnophila sessiliflora is a fast-growing, fine-leaved stem plant from Southeast Asia. It thrives in soft to hard water and also copes well with medium lighting. Thanks to its rapid growth, it binds large amounts of nutrients and thus effectively contributes to algae prevention.
Hygrophila polysperma is one of the most undemanding aquarium plants of all. It grows very quickly, tolerates a wide range of water parameters and is perfect for beginners. Its dense, green growth helps absorb excess nutrients and stabilize the biological balance.
Ludwigia palustris "Super Red" brings bright color accents to the aquarium with its intensely red leaves. The plant grows upright, branches well and shows its strong coloration even under medium lighting. Regular fertilization ensures healthy, compact growth.
Ludwigia "Rubin" is a strong red stem plant and a striking focal point in the background. It grows vigorously, keeps its shape and is also less demanding than many other red species. Thanks to its strong color, it forms a beautiful contrast to light green plants. The result is a lively aquarium with balanced colors in which the plants maintain the nutrient balance and prevent algae thanks to their fast growth.
