The Aquarium Plant Set - 250 Liters - Algae Control - Green - No. 01 was developed to plant large aquariums with fast-growing, easy-to-care-for plants that actively counteract algae. The set includes Helanthium bolivianum "quadricostatus", Hemianthus glomeratus, Cardamine lyrata, Echinodorus 'Tricolor', Limnophila sessiliflora, Hygrophila polysperma, Hydrocotyle leucocephala and Hygrophila corymbosa. This combination covers the foreground, midground and background and ensures a stable, healthy plant balance in the aquarium.

This set is designed to let you set up an aquarium without needing extensive prior knowledge of aquatics and plant care. The selected plants need low light, no CO₂, and weekly fertilization is sufficient. All plants are robust and easy to care for, do not place high demands on water parameters, and are forgiving of care mistakes.

Helanthium bolivianum "quadricostatus" is a low-growing dwarf sword plant from Central and South America. It forms light green, lanceolate leaves and, through numerous runners, quickly grows together into a dense lawn-like carpet. The species is robust, easy to care for and ideal as a carpeting plant for the foreground.

Hemianthus glomeratus is a delicate stem plant from Florida with small, light green leaflets. Under good lighting, it grows compactly and can also be cultivated as a creeping plant. Planted in groups, it forms dense, bushy cushions that look particularly decorative in the midground.

Cardamine lyrata originates from East Asia and, with its roundish leaves, is reminiscent of pennywort. It has a trailing growth habit and is ideally suited for nature-style layouts. At cooler temperatures, it develops larger leaves and a lively, loose growth.

Echinodorus 'Tricolor' impresses with its decorative three colors of light green, yellowish and brownish leaves. The compact rosette grows vigorously and forms an eye-catching center in the midground. Under good conditions, it produces new submersed leaves and occasionally flower stalks.

Limnophila sessiliflora is a fine-leaved, light green stem plant from tropical Asia. It grows very quickly, is undemanding and is particularly recommended when setting up new aquariums. With its soft, feathery shoots, it creates a light contrast to broad-leaved species in the background.

Hygrophila polysperma is one of the best-known and most robust aquarium plants. It grows under almost any conditions, absorbs excess nutrients and thus effectively inhibits algae growth. Its light green to slightly brownish leaves form dense bushes that can be trimmed regularly.

Hydrocotyle leucocephala is a pennywort from South America with characteristically roundish leaves. It grows trailing or upright, forms roots at the nodes and loosens up the layout with its light green growth. This adaptable plant thrives both underwater and above water.

Hygrophila corymbosa is a large-leaved, fast-growing plant from Southeast Asia. It grows vigorously, prefers a nutrient-rich substrate and copes with a wide range of water parameters. Its broad, green leaves form a dense background and give the aquarium structure and depth. The result is a balanced, easy-to-care-for plant set that greens large aquariums naturally and reliably prevents algae growth.
