The Aquatic Plant Set 250 Litres Green Medium No. 01 was designed for medium-sized to large nature aquariums and aquascapes that are intended to appear vibrant through different leaf structures, rich green shades and varied growth forms. The combination of upright stem plants, compact foreground plants and decorative epiphyte plants allows for a harmonious layout with a clear sense of depth. The set includes Pogostemon deccanensis ("erectus"), Hygrophila pinnatifida, Eleocharis sp. 'Mini', Staurogyne repens, Limnophila sessiliflora, Hygrophila polysperma, Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini') and Bucephalandra sp. "Theia". The different growth forms create varied contrasts between fine, bushy and broad-leaved plant areas. At the same time, the fast-growing species support the biological stabilisation during the aquarium cycling phase.
This set is intended for people who already have experience in aquatics. The selected plants require medium lighting, CO2 levels of 20 to 30 mg/l and fertilisation 2–3x per week. The plants benefit from a regular nutrient supply and stable water parameters.
Pogostemon deccanensis ("erectus") develops narrow, needle-like leaves and grows strictly upright. The vibrant green plant creates dense vertical structures in the background and is ideal for natural-looking plant groups. Under good lighting conditions, it grows compact and especially bushy.
Hygrophila pinnatifida is characterised by its deeply lobed leaves and olive-green to brownish coloration. The plant can be cultivated both in the substrate and attached to hardscape. Its unusual leaf shape creates striking accents in the midground.
Eleocharis sp. 'Mini' forms a low, delicate carpet in the foreground of the aquarium. The grass-like blades remain much more compact than those of classic hairgrass species and are ideal for detailed aquascapes. With sufficient lighting, the plant spreads quickly through runners.
Staurogyne repens is a robust foreground plant with strong green leaves and compact growth. It is perfectly suited for low-growing plant groups along stones and driftwood. Regular trimming promotes dense and bushy growth.
Limnophila sessiliflora is one of the fast-growing stem plants and supports the biological stabilisation of newly set up aquariums. Its fine, light green leaves create a soft and natural background structure. The plant is easy to care for and grows reliably even under medium lighting conditions.
Hygrophila polysperma is one of the most undemanding aquatic plants and grows particularly quickly. The light green to slightly reddish leaves provide lively colour accents in the background. Due to its rapid growth, it effectively helps absorb excess nutrients.
Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini') remains extremely compact and is ideal for small details on driftwood and stones. The small, dark green leaves appear especially decorative and grow very slowly. As a robust epiphyte plant, it requires very little maintenance and also thrives well under weaker lighting.
Bucephalandra sp. "Theia" is a decorative epiphyte plant with narrow leaves and attractive colour reflections. It is ideal for attaching to driftwood or stones and gradually develops dense clumps. Under good conditions, the leaves display metallic shimmer and intense green tones. The result is a diversely planted aquarium with natural contrasts, strong depth effect and a harmonious green appearance.
