The Aquatic Plant Set 250 Litres Green Medium No. 03 was designed for medium-sized to large aquariums and combines different growth forms, leaf structures and shades of green into a harmonious overall appearance. The set includes Bolbitis heudelotii, Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, Hygrophila pinnatifida, Hydrocotyle tripartita, Cryptocoryne crispatula var. balansae, Anubias barteri var. nana 'Round Leaf' ('Coin'), Hygrophila polysperma and Alternanthera reineckii "Kleines Papageienblatt". The combination of slow-growing epiphyte plants, delicate foreground plants and structure-forming stem plants allows for varied layouts with a natural sense of depth. At the same time, the different leaf colours and shapes create vivid contrasts within the aquarium.
This set is intended for aquarists who already have some experience in the hobby. The selected plants require medium lighting, CO2 levels of 20 to 30 mg/l and fertilisation 2-3x/week. The plants benefit from a regular nutrient supply and stable water parameters.
Bolbitis heudelotii is a decorative aquatic fern with deep green, finely pinnate leaves that is preferably attached to wood or stones. The plant grows slowly to moderately fast and develops large, elegant fronds over time. Especially in larger aquariums, it creates natural accents in the midground or background.
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis forms a grass-like foreground carpet with narrow, fresh green leaves. The plant is ideal for creating natural meadow-like areas and spreads via runners. Under good lighting, it develops into a dense and compact plant carpet.
Hygrophila pinnatifida combines olive green to brownish leaves with a distinctive pinnate leaf structure. The plant can either be attached to hardscape or planted directly into the substrate. Under good lighting, it develops intense colour contrasts and compact growth.
Hydrocotyle tripartita grows with small clover-like leaves and develops a lively, bushy appearance. The plant is suitable for the foreground and midground as well as for decorating hardscape elements. Due to its fast growth, it actively contributes to stabilising the biological balance within the aquarium.
Cryptocoryne crispatula var. balansae features long, wavy leaves and is especially suitable for the background of larger aquariums. This robust rosette plant also thrives under weaker lighting and gradually forms dense groups. Its ribbon-shaped leaves add a natural sense of movement to the layout.
Anubias barteri var. nana 'Round Leaf' ('Coin') is a compact epiphyte plant with rounded, dark green leaves. It grows slowly, is extremely robust and is ideal for decorating wood and stones. Thanks to its compact size, it can be used flexibly in the foreground or midground.
Hygrophila polysperma is one of the particularly fast-growing stem plants and effectively supports the start-up phase of an aquarium. The plant develops light green to slightly reddish leaves and can easily be trimmed and replanted. Due to its adaptability, it is suitable for a wide range of water parameters.
Alternanthera reineckii "Kleines Papageienblatt" creates strong colour contrasts within the aquarium with its reddish to purple leaves. This compact stem plant is especially suitable for the midground and structured group plantings. Under good lighting and with sufficient nutrient supply, it develops intense colours and dense growth. The result is a diversely planted aquarium with harmonious depth, natural contrasts and a balanced combination of epiphyte, rosette and stem plants.
