The Aquarium Plant Set 60 Litre Green Medium No. 06 combines varied aquatic plants for creating a natural-looking aquarium with different leaf structures and growth forms. The set includes Hygrophila pinnatifida, Eleocharis sp. 'Mini', Staurogyne repens, Limnophila sessiliflora, Hygrophila polysperma, Hygrophila polysperma 'Rosanervig' and Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini'). The combination of carpeting plants, compact foreground plants, structure-forming midground plants and fast-growing background plants allows for a harmonious design with a natural sense of depth. In terms of colour, Hygrophila pinnatifida and Hygrophila polysperma 'Rosanervig' in particular provide varied accents in the aquarium with their distinctive leaf markings.
This set is intended for aquarists who already have some experience. The selected plants require medium lighting, CO2 levels of 20 to 30 mg/l and fertilisation 2–3 times per week. The plants benefit from a regular supply of nutrients and stable water parameters.
Hygrophila pinnatifida is an unusual stem plant with deeply lobed leaves and olive-brown to reddish colouration. It can be cultivated both in the substrate and attached to hardscape, developing decorative side shoots. The plant benefits particularly from a good CO2 supply and medium to strong lighting.
Eleocharis sp. 'Mini' forms a low, dense lawn-like carpet in the foreground of the aquarium. The fine grass-like blades create a natural meadow appearance and are ideal for aquascapes. With sufficient lighting, the plant spreads quickly by runners and reliably covers open areas.
Staurogyne repens stands out with its compact and bushy growth and strong green leaves. The plant is ideal for the foreground to midground and can be shaped easily by trimming. Under good conditions, it develops dense groups and creates soft transitions between hardscape and background plants.
Limnophila sessiliflora is a fast-growing stem plant with finely feathered, light green leaves. It is ideal for the background and helps build biological stability in newly set-up aquariums. Thanks to its fast growth, it effectively absorbs excess nutrients while also providing hiding places for aquarium inhabitants.
Hygrophila polysperma is one of the particularly robust and adaptable aquatic plants for the background area. The plant grows quickly and forms long stems with light green leaves. It is ideal for fast greening and supports the stabilisation of the aquarium during the start-up phase.
Hygrophila polysperma 'Rosanervig' is characterised by its striking pale leaf veins and pink to whitish patterned leaves. Under good lighting, the plant develops particularly intense colours and becomes an attractive focal point in the background. Like the green form, it grows quickly and contributes to the biological stability of the aquarium.
Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini') is a particularly small Anubias with very compact growth and small dark green leaves. It is ideal for attaching to roots or stones and grows slowly while being easy to care for. Thanks to its small size, it fits perfectly into detailed aquascapes and smaller layout areas.
