Description
A novelty by the aquatic plant nursery Anubias. It is a variant of Cryptocoryne beckettii "petchii" (= C. petchii). Its slightly pinkish colour makes it a beautiful optical highlight.
This water trumpet has been in the trade since about 2012. It is offered as in-vitro plants by the company Anubias (Bologna, Italy) under the name Cryptocoryne petchii "Pink". It is a selection of Cryptocoryne beckettii "Petchii" from Sri Lanka, which has been known in the aquarium hobby for many years (C. petchii is a synonym). That is why the plant is called C. beckettii "Petchii Pink" in this database entry.
Cryptocoryne beckettii "Petchii Pink" has light reddish to brownish leaves with a red underside, and especially the newly emerging leaves show pink tones. It possibly stays lower than its parent form C. beckettii "Petchii" and may also grow more slowly, but plants from in-vitro culture sometimes take a very long time to reach their full size, and so far there is only little experience with C. beckettii "Petchii Pink". The leaves don't yet show reddish-brown-pink tones like in the picture, but it is much bigger and sturdy. ♥️

Kräftige Pflanze
Die Blätter weisen zwar noch keine rötlich-braun-pinken Töne auf wie auf dem Bild, dafür ist sie deutlich größer und kräftig. ♥️

Had a lot of plant mass in the pot. Looks super snazzy and doesn't act up like some other crypts in my tank. Flawless, familiar Aquasabi quality.

Kräftig ausgefüllter Topf
Viel Pflanzenmasse im Topf gehabt. Sieht super schniecke aus und zickt nicht so rum wie man andere Cryptos in meinem Becken. Astreine, gewohnte Aquasabiqualität.
