Description
The Mighty HOB Aquarium Filters (HOB = Hang On Back Filter) are compact filters for nano aquariums. The Hang On filters are available in three different sizes and provide the necessary filtration in freshwater planted nano aquariums. These units are easy to maintain, feature adjustable flow and levelling knobs and are made from durable materials for optimum performance and longevity. Each filter is pre-loaded with media, is self-priming and can be quickly installed at the edge of any nano tank.

Product safety
Warning notes:
- Do not allow the filter to run dry for prolonged periods.
General notes:
- The impeller may become displaced during transit or due to detritus build-up during use. In such cases, the filter will not self-prime.
- Gently remove, clean, and securely reseat the impeller after inspection.
Handling notes:
- Rinse filter media in cold, clean water prior to installation.
- Add cleaned media to the filter chamber.
- Attach the intake tube to the intake elbow. Carefully insert the intake assembly into the filter chamber using the guided rails.
- Install the mesh filter guard (optional) to protect smaller aquarium livestock.
- Fill the filter chamber with aquarium water until it overflows into the tank.
- Ensure the aquarium water level is not too high. Leave a 1/2–1" gap from the filter's outflow.
- Adjust the filter leveler knob as desired – the water flow will be gentler if slightly angled.
- Plug the power cord into a grounded outlet and adjust the water flow to the desired strength.

Have the S on the UNS 5C, runs great and at acceptable volume, even with throttled flow. The XS on the 20C is quite loud, and the "force" with which the water is swirled around... (read more)

S super, XS sehr laut
Habe den S am UNS 5C, läuft super und mit aktzeptabler Lautstärke, auch mit gedrosseltem Durchfluss.
Der XS am 20C ist doch sehr laut, auch die "Wucht" mit der das Wasser im Filter herumgewirbelt wird bzw. an den Deckel des Filters steigt ist nicht ganz so vertrauenserweckend.
Beim XS sind normale Filterschwämme dabei (inklusive Ersatz), beim S ein regulärer Filterschwamm sowie eine Filterkartusche mit Kohle (+ eine Ersatzkartusche).
Wanted to use it on the Fluval Edge. Unfortunately hums loudly :(
