Plenty of Accessories for Caring for Your Aquarium

Not to be underestimated: especially in shrimp breeding tanks, as little hand contact with the water as possible is desirable, so that no unwanted substances and germs can reach the valuable breeding stock. A good pair of plant scissors is particularly useful in planted aquariums, for removing old leaves and for trimming plant groups that have become too bulky and getting them back into shape. Both tools, the scissors as well as the tweezers, should be part of your basic aquarium toolkit, along with a fish net. A fish net or catching net isn't only for catching and selecting animals, it also makes it easier to skim unwanted things off the water surface, such as plant debris, duckweed or leftover fish food.

Both tweezers and scissors come in different lengths and designs (straight or curved). This allows us to offer the right solution for every situation in the aquarium. Scissors in particular are available in many different shapes for different purposes. In our online shop, we offer a diverse range of aquascaping tools, for example scissors such as the Wave Scissors or the Spring Scissors, which are particularly suitable for trimming carpeting aquarium plants.

Over time, the glass panes of an aquarium become covered with biofilms. Visible algae deposits also spoil the view, so these deposits should be removed regularly. We offer various glass cleaning tools online, ranging from classic magnetic glass cleaners and sponges to blade cleaners. The stainless steel blade cleaners popular in aquascaping are called razors.

When setting up a new aquarium, so-called sand flatteners can be helpful for shaping the substrate. These spatulas are also useful tools for maintaining decorative sand or gravel areas. Slopes in the substrate that have been leveled by erosion or by digging fish and shrimp can be restored this way.

For cleaning the filter hoses of external filters as well as the glass filter inflows and outflows often used in aquascaping, various hose brushes for common hose diameters are available in our Aquasabi shop. The filter equipment of an aquarium also needs regular maintenance, not only for visual reasons, but also so that the flow rate and the current in the aquarium can be kept at a constant level.

In addition, our online shop offers a variety of small aids for attaching aquarium plants, be it plant glue, wire or thread for tying mosses or larger epiphytic plants such as ferns onto aquarium decoration in the form of driftwood or stones. Pads made of ceramic or plastic with a stainless steel mesh are excellent, easy-to-handle planting aids for aquarium mosses or carpeting plants.

To keep track of your entire arsenal of aquascaping tools and always have them within reach, tool organizers in the form of tool stands or tool holders are a good solution. They provide holders for various scissors, tweezers and nets and can conveniently be attached to the aquarium glass. Tool bags, i.e. tool belts or tool pouches, are a good alternative if you, as an aquascaper, want to keep your instruments on you at all times and work on the go.
