The Aquarium Plant Set - 120 Liters - Colorful - Medium - No. 02 makes it possible to design a lively aquascape with well-balanced colors. The set includes Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, Hygrophila pinnatifida, Microsorum pteropus 'Trident', Hygrophila corymbosa, Hygrophila polysperma, Ludwigia palustris "Super Red" as well as Aegagropila linnaei. The moss balls complete the set as a living decoration and also bring structure to the foreground.
This set is aimed at hobbyists who already have some experience in aquarium keeping. The selected plants require medium lighting, CO2 levels of 20 to 30 mg/l and fertilization 2 to 3 times per week. The plants benefit from a regular nutrient supply and stable water parameters.
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis is often referred to as “New Zealand grass” and originates from southern South America. Under good lighting it forms a dense, grass-like carpet and is ideally suited as a carpeting plant in the foreground. The plant is adaptable and can even be kept in slightly brackish water.
Hygrophila pinnatifida impresses with lobed, olive to brownish-red leaves with light yellow markings. It forms horizontal side shoots that attach themselves to roots and stones and brings structure to the midground with its high-contrast coloration. Regular trimming promotes compact growth and emphasizes its decorative leaf shape.
Microsorum pteropus 'Trident' is a special form of Java fern with narrow, pinnately lobed leaves. It grows slowly, prefers low to medium lighting and does without added CO2. As an epiphyte it can be tied directly onto roots or stones and is ideal for shady areas in the aquarium.
Hygrophila corymbosa is a large-leaved, fast-growing stem plant from Southeast Asia. It grows both emersed and submersed, also tolerates harder water and shows sturdy, green to slightly reddish leaves under good conditions. With regular trimming, dense, bushy growth can be achieved, which looks particularly impressive in the background.
Hygrophila polysperma is one of the most undemanding aquarium plants and is particularly suitable for beginners. It grows very quickly, absorbs excess nutrients and thus contributes to a stable biological balance in the aquarium. With its light green, lanceolate leaves it forms dense groups in the background and creates a harmonious, well-kept appearance.
Ludwigia palustris "Super Red" is characterized by its intense red coloration and compact growth. Under medium to strong light it develops bright red leaves that set an impressive contrast to green plants. With regular trimming it branches well and forms dense, richly colored groups in the midground to background.
The moss ball Aegagropila linnaei serves as a decorative addition that can be placed freely in the aquarium. The result is a harmoniously matched, colorful layout for 120-liter aquariums.
