The Aquarium Plant Set - 250 Liters - Green - Easy - No. 06 was developed especially for large aquariums to create a harmonious, natural underwater landscape with robust and easy-to-care-for species. The set includes Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini'), Bucephalandra sp. "Theia", Cryptocoryne wendtii "Green", Cryptocoryne × willisii "nevillii", Limnophila sessiliflora, Hygrophila polysperma, Hydrocotyle leucocephala and Hygrophila corymbosa. This combination provides different growth heights and structures, creating a balanced, permanently stable planted look that gives any aquarium a lively, green atmosphere.
This set is designed to let you set up an aquarium without needing extensive prior knowledge of aquatics and plant care. The selected plants need low light, no CO2, and weekly fertilization is sufficient. All plants are robust and easy to care for, do not place high demands on water parameters, and are forgiving of care mistakes.
Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai' ('Mini Mini') is a particularly small variety of the popular dwarf anubias. Its ovate leaves reach a length of only about 1 to 2 cm, making it a perfect epiphyte for roots and stones in nano or larger aquariums. It is extremely robust, slow-growing and needs only little light.
Bucephalandra sp. "Theia" originates from the island of Borneo and shows compact, rosette-like shoots with reddish-brown to purple hues underwater. The plant prefers medium lighting, grows slowly and develops particularly beautifully on wood or rock with an even supply of CO2 and nutrients.
Cryptocoryne wendtii "Green" is an uncomplicated, green-leaved variety of the well-known water trumpet species. It grows reliably even under low lighting and is ideally suited for the midground.
Cryptocoryne × willisii "nevillii" forms dense groups through numerous runners and provides natural ground cover with its medium green leaves. It is undemanding, manages with low light and thrives in a wide temperature range between 15 and 30 °C.
Limnophila sessiliflora is a fine-leaved, light green stem plant that grows quickly and is particularly suitable for the background. It tolerates soft to hard water, shows slightly reddish shoot tips under good lighting and is ideal for the start-up phase of an aquarium, as it absorbs nutrients efficiently.
Hygrophila polysperma is considered one of the easiest aquarium plants of all to care for. It grows under almost any conditions, is fast-growing and, with its vigorous metabolism, contributes to the stability of the tank. Its oval, light green leaves form dense groups that should be trimmed regularly.
Hydrocotyle leucocephala, also called whitehead pennywort, grows upright to trailing and brings lively variety to the planting with its roundish, light green leaves. It is undemanding, fast-growing and its floating shoots offer cover for fish fry.
Hygrophila corymbosa, the broad-leaved giant hygrophila, impresses with large, strong leaves and fast growth. It thrives well in hard water, also tolerates less light and is ideally suited for the background of large aquariums. With its upright shoots, it sets clear accents in the design. The result is a harmonious plant combination that is easy to care for and creates a calm, balanced overall picture.
